Each person’s therapeutic journey will be different, but it’s important to me you know what to expect.

No matter the nature of our work together, you will be met with warmth, compassion, and a deep respect for your lived experience. I hope that can begin before we even sit down together. I want you to know what to expect as far as scheduling, payment, and answers to some other frequently asked questions so you have information that empowers you to make an informed decision.

What to Expect for Counseling

I recommend starting with a free consultation.

I offer 15-minute video consultations using a secure client portal. This opportunity for us to meet briefly face-to-face gives me a chance to answer any questions you might have about the therapy process, my approach, and (maybe most importantly) hopefully just give you a vibe for how it might feel to connect.

Consultations aren’t required. If you would like to schedule an initial appointment directly, please contact me via email.

Scheduling

Appointments are scheduled at the same day and time on a recurring basis either weekly or every other week. This ensures we have a guaranteed time to connect and make progress towards your counseling goals.

If your schedule does not allow for recurring appointments, please contact me or schedule a free consultation. Let’s make a plan for how to best connect before getting started.

In most cases, counseling appointments are 50-minutes long, but may be extended upon request.

Cancellation Policy

After getting started, I ask that all appointments be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24-hours before their scheduled start time. Appointments may be cancelled by contacting me directly via the secure messaging portal.

Before your first appointment, I will send you an invitation via email to create an account in the secure client portal. This account will be used to hold our telehealth sessions if we are meeting remotely. It will also contain a record of your appointments and financial transactions while we work together.

The client portal also contains a secure, confidential messaging platform you can use to contact me between sessions when or if you need to.

The Secure Client Portal

After creating your secure client portal account, you will be asked to provide some demographic information as well as fill out some required new client paperwork.

These new client forms contain important information. Please take a moment to read them fully. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to bring them to my attention.

All consent documents will need to be signed in order for us to meet for counseling.

Required New Client Paperwork

The fee for a 50-minute session is $100, unless otherwise specified at the time of your intake or consultation.

The fee is payable by debit or credit card. You will be asked to save a card on file after joining the secure client portal and signing the consent for electronic payment. If you need to change the card on file, you can do so any time in the secure client portal.

Payment for sessions will automatically be debited from your preferred payment method within 24-hours of the appointment’s completion.

I am always here to help if you anticipate a conflict with an upcoming payment or have concerns about cost.
