My Approach

Each of us has a unique story and set of circumstances that brought us to where we are today. I’m here to join you wherever you are on your journey, right now, in this present moment.

Therapy can look very different for everyone, but if we work together you can expect to be met with warmth, compassion, non-judgment. It’s my intention to create a relationship in which you can feel seen, heard, valued, and empowered to celebrate your culture, your gifts, and everything that makes your story unique.

What does that mean?

I am firmly rooted in a person-centered, humanistic perspective, which embodies the idea that all of us have the capacity for healing and growth.

But I also believe that who we are and where we come from are highly influenced by our relationships. These relationships help create and influence how we relate with ourselves, each other, and the world around us. This makes them powerful agents to explore for change.

That also includes the relationship between you and I.

It’s important to me the relationship that may grow between us be one where we can explore parts of yourself you may not have always felt safe or comfortable sharing with others. I welcome you to ask questions and feel empowered to collaborate with me so we can co-create the ideal circumstances for accomplishing your goals and enjoy the full benefits of the therapeutic relationship.

I honor our unique cultures, stories, and the wisdom of our intersecting identities and personal histories.

This means maintaining a deep respect and curiosity for how your experiences have shaped your life and your relationships up to this present moment. I encourage you to share identities, communities, and cultural roots that are significant to you, and I welcome exploring them as part of our time together – including how, and to what extent (if any) that feels helpful.

With your consent and collaboration, together we’ll use a strengths-based, liberatory approach to identify, explore, and uplift the sources of power, resilience, and connection, both historically and presently, that shape our lives. I am passionate about supporting BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, disabled folks, and other marginalized groups historically disenfranchised and harmed by the fields of psychiatry, counseling, and medicine.
